Matthew da Silva is a watercolour artist who began his practice in 2022 and has since held solo exhibitions in Sydney and regional New South Wales, as well as participating in group shows in Sydney, Brooklyn, Madrid and London. His work is closely linked to poetry, including the creation of artist books and the development of “paramontages”, a fusion of poetry and photography. In 2024, he was selected for a World Pride group exhibition in Sydney. After a long career in editorial and journalism, he returned to art, bringing a strong narrative, literary sensitivity and lived experience to his visual practice, rooted in personal storytelling.
